Step 1: Choose Your Goal Type

How to Use the Goal Preparation Planner

Setting Goals Backward from the End

The planner works backwards from your target — instead of asking "what can I craft now," it asks "what do I need to reach this goal." If your goal is full Adamantite armor for Zone 2, the planner breaks that down into the exact Adamantite Bars (77), Heavy Leather (24), and Cindercloth Scraps (20) needed, plus the prerequisite Tier 3 Armor Bench upgrade. Every step in between is mapped out automatically.

Preparation Checklist vs. Just a List

The planner outputs a preparation checklist, not just a materials list. The difference: a checklist tracks completion. Each task — "Mine 28 Adamantite Ore in Zone 2," "Craft 28 Bars at Tier 3 Smelter," "Craft Adamantite Chest at Tier 3 Armor Bench" — can be checked off as you complete it. Returning after a break, you can see exactly where you left off without restarting from scratch.

Multi-Goal Planning

Set multiple goals simultaneously — a new weapon and a full armor set. The planner merges the material requirements, removing duplicates, so your total farming list doesn't repeat materials shared between goals. If both goals require Heavy Leather, the combined requirement is shown once with the correct total rather than listed twice under each goal.

Planning Your First Goal

1
Choose a specific end target

Vague goals ("get better armor") don't generate useful plans. Select the exact item — e.g., Adamantite Chest Plate — for the planner to build a concrete material and crafting sequence around it.

2
Mark what you already have

Check off materials you already own. The planner removes them from the farming list so you don't re-farm resources already in your inventory. This keeps the remaining checklist actionable and current.

3
Review prerequisite steps

The planner shows any required bench upgrades or zone unlocks before the crafting step. If you need a Tier 3 Armor Bench and yours is at Tier 2, the upgrade appears as a prerequisite task before any Tier 3 crafting steps.

4
Work through the checklist in order

Complete tasks from top to bottom. The sequence is ordered to avoid dead ends — bench upgrades come before recipes that require them, farming steps come before crafting steps, and easier prerequisites come before harder ones.

Common Questions

How is this different from the Recipe Calculator?

The Recipe Calculator shows what one item needs. The Goal Preparation Planner shows the entire sequence from your current state to the finished goal, including bench requirements, intermediate crafting steps, and zone access prerequisites — not just the ingredient list.

Can I plan for items I don't have recipes for yet?

The planner can still show required materials for locked recipes. If you haven't unlocked the Tier 3 Armor Bench, the Adamantite Chest still shows its material requirement — and the bench upgrade itself appears as the first step in the plan.

How accurate are the time estimates?

Time estimates are based on average resource node spawn rates per zone. Zone 2 Adamantite nodes respawn on a cycle; if you're farming during a low-respawn window the actual time may be longer. The planner's estimates are baseline references, not guarantees.
