💡 Farming Tips
Fertilizer Boost
Using fertilizer increases crop yields by 30%, significantly improving profitability.
Water Management
Most crops require water. Cotton is the exception, making it ideal for dry areas.
Light Levels
Crops like Tomato and Chilli need higher light levels (12) for optimal growth.
Growth Cycles
Most crops take 24 minutes. Potato (34.5min) and Onion (70min) are exceptions.
How to Maximize Farming Profit Per Hour
Growth Time Affects Profit Rate
Crops don't just differ in sell price — they differ in growth time, which directly affects how many harvests you get per hour. Wheat grows in 24 minutes and sells for 5 coins per unit (yield 1–2). Carrots also take 24 minutes but sell for 8 coins each with a yield of 1. Potatoes take 34.5 minutes with a yield of 2–4, selling at 6 per unit. On a per-plot-per-hour basis, Carrots typically outperform Wheat despite the lower yield, while Potatoes can edge ahead if you get maximum yield rolls.
Plot Count Changes the Equation
With a single plot, you're limited by individual crop timers. With 4 plots, you can stagger Carrot harvests so one is ready every 6 minutes instead of waiting the full 24 minutes between batches. The optimizer calculates both single-plot and multi-plot scenarios — enter your available plot count to get an accurate profit projection that accounts for staggered harvesting.
Selling at NPC vs. Player Markets
NPC sell prices are fixed — Kweebec Merchant in Zone 1 buys Wheat at 5 coins and Iron Bars at 5 coins. Player market prices fluctuate but can be 2–3x higher for high-demand materials like Heavy Leather (base NPC value 1.5 per unit). The optimizer uses NPC prices as a conservative floor — your actual profit may be higher if you trade through player markets.
Getting Accurate Profit Estimates
The number of farm plots you have is the most important input. More plots mean staggered harvesting and higher hourly yield from the same crops.
Add each crop you have seeds for. The optimizer calculates profit per hour per plot for each and ranks them. Check multiple crops to find which combination of crops fills your plots most profitably.
Crops with variable yields (Potatoes give 2–4 per harvest) are calculated using average yields. The "worst case" and "best case" columns show the full range so you can plan for low-yield runs without underselling.
Coins per harvest favors high-yield crops. Coins per hour favors fast-growing crops. Both columns are shown in the results — choose the metric that matches your playstyle (active farming vs. set-and-forget).
Common Questions
At standard NPC prices, Carrots (8 coins, 24-minute growth) generally win on coins-per-hour per plot. Potatoes at max yield (4 per harvest × 6 coins = 24 coins per 34.5 minutes) can exceed Carrots per-harvest, but the longer growth timer reduces hourly efficiency unless you have many plots.
Farming is always better than buying for resale — you buy seeds at a much lower cost than the sell price of the crop. But for crafting materials, compare farming time vs. NPC buy price. Kweebec Merchant sells Iron Bars for 15 coins — if your farm time to earn 15 coins is less than the 24-minute farming cycle, buying is faster than indirect farming.
If the game includes growth-speed fertilizers or yield boosts, the optimizer has a bonus multiplier field. Applying a 20% growth speed boost to Wheat brings its 24-minute cycle down to ~19 minutes, which improves hourly profit significantly on a large plot setup.
