Hero Ability Upgrade Priority Guide

Top Priority Abilities (S-Tier)

These abilities should be upgraded to Level 3 as soon as possible:

  • Golem - Spread Thin (Level 3): +25% to ALL stats per empty slot (up to 2x multiplier with 4 empty slots). This is the most powerful ability in the game for solo missions.
  • Prism - Perfect Copy (Level 2+): Copies 100% of the hero to their left (50% at Level 1). Pairs extremely well with high-stat heroes like Phenomaman.
  • Coupe - En Pointe (Level 3): +3 Combat in Slot 1 or +3 Mobility in Slot 2 (only +1 at Levels 1-2). Versatile positioning bonus.

High Value Abilities (A-Tier)

  • Flambae - On Fire: Gains +1 Combat and +1 Mobility for each "On Fire" stack accumulated during the episode. Snowballs over time for excellent late-game value.
  • Sonar - Synergy Boost (Level 3): Enhances synergy bonuses when paired with Malevola.
  • Invisigal - Stealth Advantage (Level 3): Provides flexibility in mission types and additional mobility bonuses.

Situational Abilities (B-Tier)

  • Punchup & Malevola: Good all-rounders with balanced stat bonuses. Upgrade after S and A-tier heroes.

Upgrade Strategy Tips

  1. Focus on Level 3 first: The jump from Level 2 to Level 3 usually provides the biggest benefit (e.g., Coupe goes from +1 to +3, tripling the bonus).
  2. Synergy pairs matter: If you have both heroes in a synergy pair, upgrade them together for maximum efficiency.
  3. Consider your playstyle:
    • Solo mission players: Prioritize Golem
    • Multi-hero teams: Prioritize Prism and Coupe
    • Long episode runs: Prioritize Flambae
  4. Ability Points are limited: You earn ability points by completing missions and leveling up. Plan your upgrades wisely!

How Abilities Work

Each hero has a 3-level ability tree. You spend ability points to unlock:

  • Level 1: Basic ability unlocked (costs 1 point)
  • Level 2: Enhanced version (costs 2 more points, 3 total)
  • Level 3: Maximum power (costs 3 more points, 6 total)
