Opening principles

• Advance center pawns. Leading with pieces on files 6 and 7 grants board control.
• Guard the back row. Keep at least two pawns home to deny early king promotions.
• Trade smart. Only exchange when it gives you a tempo or opens a forced capture.

Mid-game control

• Use bridges. Create adjacent pairs that protect each other from capture.
